Een bijzondere vondst afgelopen zondag. Een automobilist die over de A58 richting Tilburg reed, zag gedumpte gasflessen langs een zandpad liggen en twee blauwe zakken.
De man belde de politie om de vondst langs de Abcovenseweg te melden. Het is niet bekend van wie de dumping is. De politie en gemeente zorgen dat de gasflessen worden opgeruimd.
De brandweer van Rijen is woensdagmiddag rond half twee uitgerukt voor een beginnende bosbrand aan de Atalanta. Omwonenden grepen snel in en wisten de vlammen al voor een groot deel te doven.
Na acht jaren komt er een einde aan de Vrijthof-Vrijthof Challenge in Hilvarenbeek. Organisatoren Willem en Mark van Abeelen maakten vandaag met pijn in hun hart bekend dat er geen vierde editie zal plaatsvinden.
