Begin dit jaar ging het Nederlands Bureau voor Toerisme & Congressen (NBTC) ervan uit dat veel internationale toeristen naar Nederland zouden komen. Dit aantal zou een record zijn geweest dankzij grote evenementen. Maar door corona zijn de verwachtingen naar beneden bijgesteld. NBTC-directeur Jos Vranken verwacht dat de cijfers pas in 2024 zullen herstellen. Ook Tilburg zal tot dat jaar te maken hebben met minder toeristen.
